On vacation {with the M family} volume 2

One of my favorite sessions last summer was the one I shot with Nina and her awesome boys during their annual visit to Sarasota! So when she contacted me to photograph her family again this year, I was totally thrilled! It’s so much fun telling stories for families, but when those stories span more than just one day or one summer and become a series – it becomes even more meaningful.

Since we did a beach session last year, and since there is so much more to this beautiful city than just the beaches, Nina decided on Marie Selby Botanical Gardens for this year’s shoot! After spending the late afternoon running around the gardens, everyone was ready for a little pre-dinner ice cream. Because you should definitely eat ice cream before dinner when you’re on vacation. Kilwin’s of St. Armand’s was calling our name!

After we wrapped things up at the ice cream shop, Nina and her husband were so sweet to invite me to have dinner with them at Daquiri Deck on the circle. It was so fun to relax and chat photography – yep, Nina’s an awesome photographer and CM mentor and Clickaway Instructor and oh yeah, a physician too in her free time! 😉  Until I’m driving away, the photo shoot is never officially over because I just can’t stop seeing moments that I feel compelled to capture! And so there are a few bonus shots at the end … because, well, 10 years from now dinner with with your children will look different than it does now. And I think anyone with kids can relate! 🙂

Nina & Anthony – it was so great seeing you again and exploring Sarasota with you! Alex – I hope you picked out a couple good spots for next year’s pictures! I’m counting on you to be my location scout! 😉 And Max – it’s so fun getting a glimpse into what my own preschooler will be like in 6 months. Don’t get big too fast!
